When ‘the First informational’ asked how reasonable it was for Armenia to do the stress test of Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant on its own, Nuclear Energy Department Head Aram Gevorgyan said, “If there are incidents, quakes and all the power lines are cut off outside, and the plant will have no power supply, what the plant should do to resist the stress. Who should do this, if not our employers, who are aware of the plant state best of all; they know what kind of equipment we have and what kind of facilities we have. The results are then checked by special supervision whether or not the results are correct, then European experts look through the results, if we have missed something, the experts can make amendments: all this is laid down on paper.”
