March 22 is celebrated as the International Day of Water, which aims to call people’s attention to the importance of water resources conservation and to promote sustainable management of water resources in our planet. How is the conservation and management of water resources implemented in Armenia and what is the state of water resources in Armenia? As it turns out, everything is not so good in here. On the eve of the World Water Day, on 18 March, the representatives of Armenian governmental bodies, international bodies, NGOS and mass media gathered to discuss the state of water resources in Ararat Valley (the Study of Groundwater Resources in the Ararat Valley in the frames of the USAID Clean Energy and Water Program (CEWP). As it turned out, serious problems have arisen due to poor management, uncontrollability and overexploitation of water. The amount of water has drastically reduced.
