On 14 November approximately 1000 young trees were planted in the territories of Shnogh and Teghout Communities. 140 students as well as the residents of Alaverdi, Shnigh and Teghout participated in this tree planting. This tree planting has been initiated by VALLEX GROUP, and this is not the first initiative of the company. A similar tree planting took place in 2008. Kamo Shahnazaryan, the Director of the forestry enterprise in Lalvar noted, “60-70% of trees planted will imp. You can observe their growth in two years”. Nevertheless, Larisa Paremouzyan, the President of the Center for Women Support in Alaverdi, is less optimistic, “I think that tree establishment is low at approximately 10%.” (See Photo reportage).
The territory for tree planting is covered with green bushes that will hinder the normal growth of the newly planted trees. “Everything should be estimated. When the trees will grow, only then the bushes will hinder them,” said Kamo Shahnazaryan.
