The movement in the support of Armavir Park is getting stronger and stronger. A new group has been set up on Facebook social network entitled “Park in Mine”, which will deal with the protection of Armavir Park.
Srill in May 2011 trees were cut down: In reply to EcoLur’s enquiry, Armavir Mayor Ruben Khlghatyan said not trees but bushes were cut down to plant decorative trees. According to some mass media, National Assembly Deputy and Entrepreneur Ruben Hayrapetyan bought the park territory to build a bank building there.
The other day an Armavir resident called to EcoLur and said the trees in Armavir Park are not watered intentionally to let them wither, and in that case, it’s not excluded the territory will be given for construction purposes.
