Though the tree pruning in Yerevan has officially finished, EcoLur continues receiving letters and photos from Yerevan residents unhappy with the tree pruning. Under the official information, around 18,000 trees were subject to deep pruning in all the administrative areas of Yerevan. Yerevan residents don’t oppose to pruning, but they do oppose to deep pruning, which results in having a tree stub only and years are needed for the trees to be recovered and to shade passers-by during summer heat. These pruned trees can’t ensure us with oxygen, which is so necessary for Yerevan air saturated with different toxic substances.
