Deep Pruning in Yerevan: We Are Deprived of(Photos)

EcoLur is receiving alarm signals and photos from Yerevan residents about the tree pruning in Yerevan. The residents insist that trees having been pruned deeply 1-2 years ago are again subject to deep pruning. Under the official data, 7000 trees have already been pruned in Yerevan.

Siranuysh Gevorgyan, a resident at Hrachya Qochar Street, writes, “The street has become empty, as almost all green braches of trees have been cut down. They took off my spring. I can hardly believe these trees will become green again.”

Avan resident Gohar Hajinyan writes, “Deeply shocked to see how our environment is made ugly. It’s clear that people pruning the trees are not specialists. Recently we had guests from abroad, who were terrified with such deep pruning in Yerevan. They say tree branches in their countries are simply slightly cut off, and not just stubs are left.”

Yerevan Municipality not only deprived Yerevan residents of oxygen, but also eliminated the main absorbers of CO2.
